Since 1968, the North American Students of Cooperation (NASCO) and its affiliates have been working with students, worker-owners, activists, and community members from the U.S. and Canada who are interested in applying cooperative principles to meet their needs and fulfill their various missions. NASCO provides education and technical assistance to its members and co-op organizing groups, assists its members in communicating with each other, acts to educate the public in cooperative principles and practices, and promotes the co-op movement as a whole.

Youth Representative on the ICA Board
Report of Board meeting results
Washington D. C. may 2nd to 4th 2006
Last may 2nd to 4th the third new ICA Board meeting took place in Washington D.C.- USA, to which I attended as the Youth Representative on this body. I’ll briefly list the topics discussed and some results of our participation in this meeting.
The regionalization process keeps being the top priority in the board agenda. It is expected from regionalization to bring ICA closer to members in each region. Anyhow, in the discussion there are fears of possible disarticulation. The observe the pros and cons of the process, Cooperatives Europe, the European branch of ICA, is leading the process and is conducting the pilot in the regionalization experience. The other regions are discussing they way they are going to carry out the process. It is expected that by the next ICA GA the board will have a complete proposal to be discussed and approved.

Just spotted that the site was no longer accessible via the icayouth.net (or www.icayouth.net) URL. It's fixed now, so apologies to all those users who may have been attempting to access the site at one or other of these alternative URLs.

hi, My name is victor, the national president of National Association of Cooperative Students (NACOS)in Nigeria,West Africa. I was the founder of this first kind of Student and youth cooperative association in Nigeria with membership now cutting across all the Cooperative colleges in Nigeria numbering up to 2000.
It started fully last year 2005 in june and we are really trying our best in making cooperative take its place of being an avenue for develoment. I have made some contact with great minds like Amanda Sharp and Claire Brenner who have encouraged me the more they have updated me about the bcf conference and I really appreciate them. I write also to them for more guidance. I'm also writing to say a big thank you for the update of the youth coop conference.
Tonight I've installed a new code module that should deliver some enhanced multilingual site features (assuming it works, and I'm pretty sure that it is not yet fully implemented).
The most obvious thing to see is the option to select your language preference in the top of the right hand column.
Also, when you create content, the form should include an option to select the language of the content you are inputting. Of course you will have the option of creating translated versions of any content you create.
I just need to check out how, when viewing any given page, you can see whether any other language versions of that page exist, and if so, how to select them. Hmmm.
